Monthly Wordless Walk: April 27, 2013, 8:30 a.m. - By April, spring is in full bloom at the swamp! Birdsong guaranteed. You might see tree frogs, deer, egrets, or armadillos. Come walk in the woods in a new way– No bird ID, no photography tips – just really being present on a silent walk. Sound good? Here’s what one recent walker had to say: “This walk without talking was like a wordless conversation with the senses. We were intelligently guided in ways to see, hear, smell and feel nature. It was like a balm or medicine and I just seemed to soak it up. Can’t think of a better way to spend a morning.” We meet at Jean Lafitte National Park at the Pecan Grove Parking Lot. Bring water and insect repellent. Be prepared for a little mud if there’s been recent rain. $5.00 donation appreciated but not required.
